Communicating Effectively to your Team!
Don't let your workforce confuse a lack of communication, with a lack of care.
Too often things are not implemented, or problems not resolved, because a lack of communication has left people to wonder, often resulting in a less than flattering impression or outcome.
How do we address this?
SMARTER - Set clear expectations, communicate these expectations personally.
SIMPLER - Communicate face to face and encourage feedback. Posters and emails only reinforce the initial conversation, and should not be used for the primary message.
SAFER - Include people in the process, only when they are engaged can you expect the desired outcome.
If you only take away 1 point from this video it is that Emails = supplementary form of communication. Nothing is as effective or and engaging as a face to face discussion.
If it's worth doing, its worth getting in front of your stakeholders and driving a good outcome.
