90 Day Payment Terms? Doubt it!

The impact of 90 Day Payments Terms on the wider construction industry.

I appreciate that this is a a point of sensitivity for many in the construction industry, and would like to bring some thoughts to light.

These terms are invalidated by legislation, and don't belong in our contracts. Why? because there are intrinsically inequitable, particularly due to a High cost of goods and labour, in an industry so heavily comprised of SMEs.

When the Client or Principle Contractor delegate their cashflow concerns to the Mum & Dads who are actually BUILDING their projects, they pass on extreme financial stress. This stress and concern then cascades into their work crews and invariably into their personal life.

With construction workers already twice as likely to complete suicide, isn't it time we worked together to seek out and capitalise on unity and equability.
