Your Duty of Care, explained in 90s flat!
So often Safety systems become over complicated by vain attempts to interpret an employer’s Duty of Care in a one size fits all approach.
Smarter - Now I mention that you needn't worry about registers etc. the caveat I place around that is that your systems should be set up in a way which automatically creates a register with each inspection/entry.
Simpler - Unfortunately, this often results in us majoring in the minor details, which would naturally be addressed if dealt with further upstream. This means you are getting one version of the truth and are not having to tie up an FTE, simply to maintain registers of something which is generated dynamically.
Safer - This shift toward simpler, dynamic record keeping allows focus to shift on DOING the job safer, as opposed to attention and resources being distracted into creating an audit trail or demonstrable due diligence. In addition to this, the workforce will be unencumbered with an additional ‘safety appendage’ hanging on to their workflow.
Smarter, Simpler, Safer - Unlocks proficiency and profitability.
