Sheet Safety & the Law of Diminishing Returns
Law of Diminishing Returns = The point at which additions of input yield progressively smaller, or diminishing, increases in output.
So a mate of mine sent me this text while on Holiday in the Great Southern - To be honest, at first glance, I died a little on the inside.
On reflection I’ve softened my approach and speculate that this wasteful overkill is probably due to either
An employee, frustrated (and probably previously scorned), has gone out of their way to test the boundary of what being ‘committed to safety’ can look like.
A Manager, terrified by potential legislative liability, has done similar to 1) and ensured that no ‘reasonable person’ could ever accuse them of not maintaining a safe public place.
On a positive note, Kudos to the center's management in ensuring enough money for safety signage - too often it's a panicked messaged scrawled illegibly over a soggy bit of paper, sticky-taped to the back of a chair.
I sleep well at night knowing (but for a Tsunami) you stand prepared, ready to respond diligently to any moisture related walkway hazards.
