Bringing Sexy Back, To Safety

Shortly I will be sharing a cheeky little skit I recorded with Dave Clare, musing on why Australians struggle to deliver projects on time, & on Budget.

For the avoidance of doubt, I am not suggesting that we should cut back on clever, engaging safety - just the 'Sheet' Safety.

Obviously thoughtful, pro-active safety is essential, not only for the health and wellness of workers and stakeholders, but for the broader community.

I simply argue that we should be spending our time and resources on Hard controls (Elimination, Substitution, Engineering), rather than applying layers and layers of low value Soft controls (Administration & PPE), typically at the last minute, which do nothing to reduce severity of hazard and everything to slow, frustrate and disengage the person actually DOING the job!
